This Study Area Specification (SAS) has been designed for young adults in the senior phase of learning who are not functionally numerate. The SAS reflects the National Reporting System (NRS) indicators of competence at levels 1 and 2 in numeracy. Students in this subject will need substantial support in their learning to help them achieve the general objectives of knowing, applying and communicating. Functional Mathematics may serve as a bridging course to Prevocational Mathematics.

This SAS does not contribute credit to the Queensland Certificate of Education.
