Students working towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) can complete recognised studies in addition to Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) subjects and vocational education and training (VET) qualifications.

What are recognised studies?

Recognised studies are courses that the QCAA has approved to count towards the QCE.

When a student completes a recognised study, the recognised provider reports the results to the QCAA. If eligible, QCE credits are added in the student’s learning account.

Quality assurance

All recognised studies must meet a set of quality criteria set by the QCAA. They are subject to ongoing quality assurance processes.

This ensures that:

  • all recognised studies continue to meet the standard of learning required to contribute to the QCE
  • the credibility of the qualification is maintained.
