Yes. Students can only accrue QCE credit for new learning.

Section 2.3 of the QCE and QCIA policy and procedures handbook outlines duplication of learning in VET qualifications, including listing which subjects and VET qualifications overlap.

Your school RTO can issue students with white cards once it has met all the white card requirements, including ensuring that

  • you have the required units of competency on your scope of registration
  • your trainers and assessors have the required qualifications
  • your school RTO has entered into an agreement with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

Apprenticeships and traineeships combine training with paid employment. They can be full time, part time, or school-based.
