Appeal a QCAA initial RTO registration or performance assessment
School registered training organisations (RTOs) can request a reassessment if they are not satisfied with a decision made by the QCAA. The QCAA acts as delegate for the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Request for reassessment of a QCAA regulatory decision
When you can request a reassessment
You can request a reassessment when the QCAA has identified issues that your school RTO needs to address.
This includes decisions about:
- changes to the RTO’s scope of registration
- initial RTO registration
- performance assessments.
We will review any new evidence you provide. This evidence must show that you have addressed the identified issues.
Who can make the request
The request must be made by:
- the principal (Chief Executive) or
- the RTO manager (registration enquiries officer) as listed on Training.gov.au.
How long does it take for the request to be finalised?
We aim to complete reassessments as quickly as possible. However, the process can take up to 90 days. The time varies depending on how much evidence needs to be reviewed.
The school RTO will receive written notice of the reassessment decision within 30 days of the decision being made. The notice will explain the reasons for the decision.
