Queensland’s new senior secondary curriculum and assessment system was implemented in 2019 as part of the Queensland Government reform, Advancing futures: New senior assessment and tertiary entrance systems in Queensland.
In mid-2023, the QCAA engaged the University of Melbourne’s Assessment and Evaluation Research Centre to conduct an independent evaluation of the new Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) system and its processes. The QCAA is currently preparing its initial response to the final report, which will be published in August 2026.
