Accreditation program review

In 2017, the QCAA launched an online professional learning program for teachers to support the implementation of quality assurance processes for assessment in the new QCE system. The accreditation program comprises online assessment literacy courses for all senior secondary teachers and role-specific courses for teachers interested in becoming a QCAA assessor.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the QCAA engaged the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to evaluate the program. The evaluation project involved a literature review, international scan, formal review of assessment courses, analysis of course completion data, case studies, and stakeholder interviews and surveys. All teachers who completed an accreditation course were invited to provide feedback on their experience via an anonymous online survey.

The project findings and recommendations are detailed in the QCE system: Post-cycle process review report. We are currently refreshing the courses in line with QUT’s recommendations.
