The QCAA has developed resources for Queensland early years teachers to support children’s successful transitions to school. In 2015 these resources were developed in partnership with the Department of Education and Training.
Research acknowledges that the transition from prior to school settings to the first year of school is a critical time of change for children, parents and educators.
There are a number of stakeholders, including Prep teachers, school leaders, kindergarten teachers, other professionals and community organisations working together to support families and children to achieve successful transitions to school.
These partners in transition contextualise a range of strategies for their school and community to promote continuity of curriculum and pedagogies and support successful transitions to school.
