School registered training organisations (RTOs) must have a governance system. This system must include specific policies and practices that comply with the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations.
Compliance requirements
Your school RTO must comply with:
- National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations Instrument) 2025
- National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Compliance Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations Fit and Proper Person Requirement) Instrument 2025
- Credential Policy (Standards for Registered Training Organisations)
Required compliance activities
Your school RTO must complete these activities in the VET application in the QCAA Portal:
- Complete and submit the ‘Annual declaration on compliance’ by 31 March each year.
- Complete ‘Quality indicator report’ by 30 June each year.
- Report any substantial organisational detail changes to the QCAA within 10 business days of the changes occurring.
