The Guideline for individual learning (GIL) provides a framework for curriculum, assessment and reporting. Schools use it to develop individualised curriculum plans for senior secondary students working towards the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).
Developing QCIA curriculum plans
Schools must develop and approve a curriculum plan for all QCIA-eligible students when they enter the senior phase of learning.
When developing a curriculum plan, schools select the following from the GIL:
- Curriculum organisers
- Learning focuses
- Learning goals.
Schools must create and approve QCIA curriculum plans by the end of Term 1, Year 11.
Recording QCIA curriculum plans
Schools record curriculum plans in the Student Management application in the QCAA Portal when students begin Year 11.
