Future goals

What are your future goals? Tricky question.
Austine Gaheun Kim
I only have some rough goals like becoming a dentist after graduating uni, and maybe having my own a clinic one day.

I really do want to be working towards a career in medicine, but eventually, I think it would be really meaningful if I could go on medical missionaries, and eventually, hopefully, fingers crossed, establish a not-for-profit organisation.

I want to become a geriatrician. I'd like to travel the world, because I'd like to see different cultures.

I want to pursue cybersecurity, particularly in security architecture.

Who inspires you?
Joshua Ryu
For me, I think the greatest source of inspiration has been my parents. And obviously, just seeing the hard work that they put into their daily lives.

My dad works in IT, so he's been quite a role model for me trying to get into the industry. And my mum has been supporting me my whole life with school, whatever it is.

I was inspired by my peers who always work hard and do their best in everything.

I think community kind of reminds us why we're here. Being part of a community makes you feel like there's other people who support you, and I think that support is really important.
Toby Heytman
Just seeing how hard other people can work really inspires me to knuckle down and say, ‘well know you, if they can do it, I can do it too’, and try push myself a lot harder.
Motivation

What motivates you to achieve your goals?

This would have been really helpful if I was in school now. So hopefully, it helps someone out there, whoever's watching this.

I imagine me becoming a dentist, and that kind of imagination and thinking allows me to overcome the difficulties.
Toby Heytman
I'm accountable for all my actions and everywhere I go in life. So if I want to achieve something, get somewhere, it's going to have to be me that does it.

I'm very grateful for the people, you know, my community, my family who have endlessly supported me, my friends who have made wonderful memories with and in particular, I'd like to thank my teachers who have been there for me.

Just doing the best that I can in whatever I do.

I really like to be active and, you know, could be anything from just taking a walk outside the house every day.

I'm quite passionate about finding out why things are, why the world works the way it does.

I'm passionate about learning and trying to discover new topics, particularly in the computer industry.

I think it's giving someone something to look forward to,or giving someone a happy moment in their life. It's something that's very fulfilling for me. That's one of you know, my core values is you always give and sometimes you take but you always give more.
