The diagram sets out the AARA process for Units 3 and 4.
In consultation with students and/or parents/carers, schools undertake the following sequential steps:
- Review student eligibility for AARA.
- Gather information and supporting documentation.
- Consider upcoming summative internal and external assessment.
- Identify AARA required.
- Report or apply for AARA (see table ‘Adjustments requiring ACAA approval’, above). For principal-reported AARA: schools confirm arrangements with relevant stakeholders, then report to the QCAA on AARA enacted, and then retain supporting documentation. For QCAA-approved AARA: schools submit an application for QCAA-approved AARA (section 6.4.2), after which the QCAA considers applications. The QCAA then communicates decisions to the school, and then schools confirm arrangements with relevant stakeholders.
- Administer assessment and enact AARA.
- Monitor AARA effectiveness
