Continuing professional development for teachers

The QCAA offers high-quality professional development for teachers from Kindergarten to Year 12. This includes workshops, webinars, forums, online resources, and training for NAPLAN test markers and QCAA assessors.

These activities can contribute to the continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration renewal.

When considering an activity, teachers need to consider if it represents genuine new learning rather than a routine activity — such as undertaking NAPLAN marking or training activities over a number of years.

The responsibility ultimately rests with individual teachers to assess the contribution that an activity makes towards their development and professional growth. If audited by the QCT, individuals will need to justify the activities that have been counted towards their CPD.
