Background
The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is hiring community members to work as invigilators to observe and report on the administration of Year 12 external assessments at schools throughout Queensland from Monday 27 October to Tuesday 18 November 20225. These are paid positions.
The invigilator role is independent. They are appointed to observe and report on the administration of the assessments. They are not responsible for supervising students or assisting with any administration or assessment set-up tasks.
Applications to become an invigilator are now open and interested members of the community are encouraged to apply — with a strong focus on regional, rural and remote areas of Queensland.
QCAA invigilators must be at least 18 years of age, eligible to work in Australia and hold a current paid Blue Card/exemption card, or a Queensland College of Teachers registration.

What’s involved?
Invigilators quietly observe and report on the administration of exams in Queensland schools, helping ensure fair and secure processes that maintain public confidence in the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) system. They do not supervise students or assist with assessment delivery.
✅ No prior experience needed, as paid training is provided.
✅ All work is during school hours and scheduled based on your availability.
✅ A paid blue card/exemption card or Queensland College of Teachers registration is required to apply.
