Your role as a supervisor
If you supervise a student completing external assessment at a venue that is not a Queensland secondary school, you have an important role. You must follow the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority’s (QCAA) directions to ensure:
- assessment is administered in the same way for all students
- the security and integrity of assessment is maintained.
Before you agree to supervise
Check that you are eligible and can complete all required duties. You must agree in writing to all QCAA assessment requirements, by completing a supervisor statement.

Review the Supervisor eligibility and suitability requirements.
Complete a supervisor statement
Download and complete the relevant supervisor statement. The student will give this to the school to submit as part of a variation to venue application.

After the application is approved
When the QCAA approves a variation to venue application, we will send you a confirmation email with important information including steps to action prior to the assessment period.
