What are you doing this year?
I am going to study at the Conservatorium of Music.
I'm about to commence a Bachelor of Medical Science.
I'm studying a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
I'm going to UQ to study medicine.
I'm going to do architecture this year.
A dual degree, a Bachelor of Engineering and Mathematics.
Mathematics and Computer Science.
I'll be travelling to the UK to study engineering at university.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I don't know if I've looked that far in the future.
Hopefully doing a job that I like. That's probably my main goal.
I… hope to be working in engineering. I'm not sure which kind of engineering yet.
Potentially an aeronautical engineer.
Maybe being a contract composer or still maybe a gigging musician.
I would love to do an internship for medicine overseas.
A PhD… maybe travelling overseas.
Hopefully I've now kind of found my footing and I've really kind of found, a place and community for myself.
I'd really love to help those who are disadvantaged in society, being a doctor and providing healthcare access for those who don't have as easy access to it.
I see myself with a… with a family. Is that is that too..?
What do you do to help you study?
I enjoyed a quiet workspace.
I would sit down at the desk. I'd have a hot tea next to me. I'd have a bickie.
I've got, you know, all these different Spotify playlists for like my different moods.
But when there's music with lyrics, I can't focus.
Figuring out when to take breaks, and how long to take those breaks for.
I take a lot of naps. I went on my phone a lot. That's probably not good.
My girlfriend actually set me a screen time for a one hour limit every single day, so… I hit that quite early on in my study session.
I have a lot of inspiring teachers who do lots of amazing work.
I think I just take inspiration from lots of the people around me, whether it's my local doctor or, you know, extended family members who are successful in their own lives.
I'd say my parents, because, I think the two of them are quite curious people themselves and have inspired me to be curious about the world around me.
What personally drives me are the female scientists that came before me.
My friend Luke Oishi really inspires me. He's so, so kind, he's so hardworking, and he's also such, like, a humble guy, you know.
What's the best life advice you've been given?
That there is no right way to succeed, or that there is no, like, one way to reach a specific goal.
To take every opportunity you can with both hands.
You fail 100% of things you don't try.
Someone once told me that how you live your days is how you live your life. And I think that's really been a big, like, hit, like, whoa.
Live today like there is no tomorrow. Is that how it goes?
What advice would you give to future Year 12 students?
It's okay to make mistakes. I feel like that's a very big piece of advice.
Work towards being your best self, as opposed to comparing yourself to others.
Learn to enjoy the process, I think. Because obviously it's a long journey.
It is so important to enjoy the little things and take each moment.
Go to sleep. Sleep is good.
If you could have any superhero power, what would it be?
That's a really tough one. It's quite random as well.
I've never thought about this.
I would love the power of teleportation or like, time travel.
I think I would like to be able to fly.
I used to be late all the time when I was younger, so, yeah, maybe super speed.
I've really always wanted to have like a photographic memory. It's like, flick through a book and just remember everything it says. I think that would be really cool.
I would say teleportation. I would be able to see the world very quickly.
I think I'd like to predict what happens in the future.
I think it would be cool to fly, but it would not be cool if I was the only one flying, and everyone thought it was weird that I could fly. But maybe the one thing I would choose is to fly, if other people can also fly and we can fly together.
