This data is compiled from information provided to the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) by Queensland schools, the Department of Education, the Department of Trade, Employment and Training, the International Baccalaureate Organisation, and other learning providers.
- SEP – The Senior Education Profile (SEP) may include a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), a Senior Statement or a Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).
- QCE – The Queensland Certificate of Education is Queensland’s senior schooling qualification. Students must attain 20 credits by completing studies at the set standard in a required pattern. A minimum of 12 credits must come from completed courses in the Core category of learning and 8 credits from any combination of other courses of study. Students must also meet minimum standards of literacy and numeracy. Students can continue to work towards their QCE after they have left school.
- QCIA – A student awarded a Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) has engaged in a highly individualised learning program for their senior phase of schooling. Students may receive a Senior Statement and a QCIA.
- VET – Vocational education and training (VET) qualifications include Certificate I, II, III, IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualifications.
- SAT – A student can start a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SAT) in Years 10, 11 or 12 with approval from their school. The SAT may be completed before the student finishes school, or they may continue to work towards completion after leaving school.
- IBD – A number of Queensland students complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBD) as an alternative to the QCE. Students completing the IBD may also be eligible for a QCE.
- University studies – The number of students who completed a university subject while at school.
- QCE Achievement Awards – The Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) Achievement Awards celebrate the academic learning achievements of Queensland’s highest performing students.
