Downloading and viewing documents

Portable Document Format (PDF)

Most PDF files can be viewed directly in your web browser without installing additional software.

Some PDF files, particularly interactive forms, may work best when downloaded and opened using a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  • View a document by selecting the link text. The document will open in your web browser or PDF reader.
  • Save a document for later viewing by selecting the link text and choosing the option to save or download the file.

On some devices, you may need to select and hold the link or use your device’s menu options to download the file.

Microsoft files

You can view, save and print Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files using a free Microsoft account or a Microsoft 365 paid subscription.

Files can be opened:

  • in your web browser using Microsoft 365
  • in installed apps on your computer or mobile device
  • from cloud storage such as OneDrive or Dropbox.

You can also open Microsoft files using non-Microsoft products such as Google Docs. Some features or formatting may not be available. A free Google account is required.
