Physical Education General Senior Syllabus 2019: Syllabus amendment notice

Amendments have been made to the Physical Education General Senior Syllabus 2019.

Summative internal assessment 1: Project — folio

The description of the project has been amended to better describe the requirements for the student response and the supporting evidence for physical performance.

Assessment objectives 5 and 6 have been slightly modified to make explicit the evaluation and justification of one tactical or training strategy and two movement strategies.

The specifications have been amended to better sequence information.

The conditions have been reduced from 15 hours to 5 hours to encompass only the construction of the response, after students have gathered and analysed primary and secondary data.

The instrument-specific marking guide has been amended to reflect the above changes.

Summative internal assessment 2: Investigation — report

The conditions have been reduced from 10 hours to 5 hours to encompass only the construction of the response, after students have gathered and analysed primary and secondary data.

Summative internal assessment 3: Project — folio

This assessment has been updated to be consistent with Summative Internal Assessment 1.

Physical activities

Subject matter has been modified for the following:

  • Net and court: Volleyball specialised movement sequences
  • Target: Archery, Golf and Lawn bowls specialised movement sequences
  • Striking and fielding: Softball  body and movement concepts.
