The Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG) provides advice for planning, interacting with children, monitoring and assessing, and sharing information in kindergarten contexts.
The Continua of learning and development is a resource that helps teachers assess, reflect and make evidence-based judgments about children's learning progress. This information is used to plan ways to promote continuity of children's learning and development.

Transition statements
Transition statements are an end of year expectation that include contributions from children and parents/carers. They provide a snapshot of each child’s learning and development to:
- identify each child’s strengths and interests
- ensure each child is appropriately supported for a positive start to school.
Transition statements belong to parents/carers and the child but include valuable information to help your child settle into school.
Parent/carer consent to share transition information
Parents/carers must give their consent for a transition statement to be shared with a child’s Prep teacher and/or other relevant staff at their new school, using the Transition statement consent form.
