Casual positions

NAPLAN markers

Each year, the QCAA appoints registered and retired teachers to mark student responses for the NAPLAN writing tests, drawing from the pool of re-applicant markers and recruiting new markers. For more information and to apply, see NAPLAN marker information.

QCAA assessors

We employ and train Queensland teachers to help develop and quality assure internal and external assessment. There are four assessor roles:

  • QCAA assessor (endorsement)
  • QCAA assessor (confirmation)
  • QCAA assessor (external assessment writing)
  • QCAA assessor (external assessment marking).

QCAA invigilators

We appoint community members as invigilators to observe and report on the administration of external assessment sessions at secondary schools and approved assessment venues throughout Queensland. For more information and to apply, see External assessment invigilators.
