This section provides information on registration and compliance requirements for the VET Quality Framework.

Training.gov.au

Training.gov.au (TGA) is the national database for registration of RTO information.

The Registration tab identifies registration dates for the RTO including the end date of registration.

The Contacts tab identifies the CEO (Principal) and the Registration and Public Enquiries person (RTO Manager). The school RTO must keep this information up to date.

The Scope tab lists current qualifications your RTO is registered for. It does not list the units of competency that your organisation is registered for. The QCAA scope of registration document is the only place units of competency are listed for your school RTO.

The Delivery tab lists all current qualifications as well as those that have been superseded and are in teach-out or have expired.

QCAA scope documents

Queensland school RTOs are registered for a qualification with a specific list of units of competency (chosen by the school RTO) attached to the qualification. All units on the training and assessment strategy must be listed under the qualification on the QCAA scope document.

The QCAA Scope of Registration document identifies a period of accreditation for each qualification or accredited course. In many cases this is an arbitrary date (as required by QCAA’s IT system). If you see a ‘To’ date of 31/12/2014, at the end of the year the QCAA will automatically extend the registration period for qualifications where there is no new Training Package and/or as allowable under transition arrangements. If you see a ‘To’ date before 31/12/14, then it is a ‘teach-out’ only qualification and that is the final date, i.e. all students must complete the qualification by that date.

Request a copy of scope via email.
