This study area specification (SAS) covers a range of practical topics and VET qualifications in dance, drama, media, music and visual art. It provides students with opportunities to explore roles such as maker, performer/presenter, technician and manager.

This SAS offers 3 approaches:

  • Approach A — CUF10107 Certificate I in Creative Industries, CUF20107 Certificate II in Creative industries (Media), CUE20103 Certificate II Live Production, Theatre and Events, CUS20109 Certificate II Music, CUV10111 Certificate I in Visual Arts, CUV20111 Certificate II in Visual Arts, CUV10211 Certificate I in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts and/or CUV20211 Certificate II in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts
  • Approach B — School-devised course of study over 4 semesters
  • Approach C — Level I certificate listed under Approach A over 2 semesters and 2 semesters of units from the school-devised course of study

Study plans and AQTF registration

Approach A. Before offering the VET certificates listed in this approach, schools must ensure the courses or qualifications fall within their AQTF scope of registration.

Approach B. Schools must submit a study plan by the end of Term 1 in the first year of teaching the course.

Approach C. Schools delivering Approach C must lodge the documentation required for both Approach A and Approach B.
